2005 Chevrolet Classic Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder on 2005 Chevrolet Classic?
A: You should use a vise to hold the mounting flange safely while keeping the primary Piston's rear part reachable. Insert suitable hose connections to both master cylinder ports after taking off the diaphragm and reservoir cap. Place transparent tubes on master cylinder ports and direct them into the reservoir. Put delco supreme 11 brake fluid p/n 12377967 into the reservoir fully until it meets the halfway mark. Reservoir fluid must stay below the threads of the plumbing. Push and release the primary Piston with a smooth rounded tool to 25 mm depth multiple times until fluid runs freely from the ports but the effort needed to press the Piston grows since the air moves from the components. Keep bleeding until fluid runs clearly through each port without the presence of air. Reinsert the master cylinder cap then diaphragm after you take the transparent hoses out from the reservoir space. Finish by taking the hose ports off and placing the master cylinder on clean cloth before taking it off from the vise.
