How to replace the tailgate latch on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?

Start by opening the endgate and then removing the endgate trim panel before beginning tailgate latch replacement. First detach the endgate latch rod from the endgate latch then remove the bolts that secure the endgate latch to the endgate so you can remove it from your vehicle. After positioning the endgate latch back into place you can install the bolts (W705202S) while applying 10 N.m (88 lb in) of torque. To finish the repair, reinstall the endgate trim panel after reconnecting the endgate latch rod to its place on the endgate latch.
