Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable but remember to follow the Battery Disconnect Caution. Raise the vehicle before you provide support to it. The negative battery cable needs its bolts removed from frame, radiator support and engine block before extraction. Start the installation process by attaching the negative battery cable followed by tightening the negative battery cable bolt to the block at 17 N.m (13 lb ft). Secure the negative battery cable bolt to the radiator support before tightening it to 9 N.m (80 lb in) and then tighten the negative battery cable bolt to the frame to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Lower the vehicle while reconnecting the negative battery cable.
