How to properly service and repair the Parking Assist Distance Sensor on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

To change the rear object sensor take out the rear fascia and unplug the electric connector. Open the locking tabs and take out the sensor and retainer ring. Apply paint to the new sensor without build up. Install the retainer ring, the sensor and reconnect electrical connector and then remove the fascia again.
