First disconnect the power source by turning OFF the ignition then separate the electrical connector which links to the EGR valve. The next step entails removing two retaining nuts from the EGR valve which enables you to pull out the EGR valve. Detach the gasket from the EGR valve inlet pipe for cleaning the inlet pipe from all debris and dirt buildup. The EGR inlet pipe receives a new gasket and then the EGR valve gets installed with its retaining nuts being torque to 30 N.m (22 lb ft) as per the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Reattach the EGR valve electrical connector as the last step.
