• Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2005 Buick LeSabre?

  A: To remove the lower Intake Manifold, first remove the upper Intake Manifold, thermostat housing, and remove the connector from the back of the ect. Next is erasing the tensioner of the drive belt and the outlet pipe of egr value as well as the bolts of the lower Intake Manifold to remove the lower Intake Manifold. Clean and check the lower Intake Manifold before installation. Clean the cylinder block, heads, as well as the Intake Manifold painting surface of all the oil using a proper solvent, followed by the gm sanctioned sealer to the end of the Intake Manifold seal. Make sure that any adhesive compound is removed from the Intake Manifold bolts and bolt holes, and apply thread locking compound gm p/n 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953541) into each Intake Manifold bolt threads before assembly. Replace the lower Intake Manifold Gasket and then the lower Intake Manifold. Apply threadlocker 272 gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) on the threads of the bolt then install lower Intake Manifold bolts tightening in sequence (1-10) to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Refit the egr valve outlet pipe, refit the drive belt tensioner, and reconnect the electrical connector from the ect before installing the Thermostat Housing and eventually the upper Intake Manifold.
