How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 2004 GMC Sonoma?

The first step for replacing the vss is to lift the vehicle and put a drain pan in place. Take off the electrical connector from the sensor and take out the bolt . Pull and twist the sensor out of the case and get rid of the o-ring seal . Prior to reinstalling the Vehicle Speed Sensor, use a new o-ring seal and put clean transmission fluid on it. Once the bolt is in, hand-turn it until you reach 11 nm (97 inch lbs.). Join the wiring harness connector to the Vehicle Speed Sensor, clear away the drain pan, lower the vehicle, and bring the transmission fluid to the correct dexron-iii level.
