Apply border tape first to shield and keep the tailgate emblem in position. Set theHeat Gun (J 25070) 152mm (6in) away from the surface and apply its heat in circular motions to the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds. Use a plastic tool to extract the emblem/nameplate from its current position while holding the 3M(TM) adhesive remover against both sides of the emblem and tailgate. Wipe the tailgate surface with varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha. Set tape on surface to measure four dimensions if the emblem location needs precise placement. The measurements are 59.5 mm from tailgate edge to emblem at Dimension a, 12.1 mm from tailgate bottom to emblem at Dimension b, 5.1 mm from tailgate bottom to emblem at Dimension c, and 59.4 mm from tailgate edge to emblem at Dimension d.
