Begin by raising the vehicle before starting replacement of the secondary air injection (AIR) pump. You must first disconnect both air inlet and outlet pipes from the air reaction pump along with separating the electrical Relay from the bracket and disconnecting the electrical connector from the pump. After you remove the three air pump bracket bolts from the vehicle frame you can extract the air pump. Secure the air pump installation within the vehicle by positioning it correctly before tightening all 3 bolts to the vehicle frame at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Replace the electrical Relay on the air pump bracket after connecting its electrical connector to the pump. Begin by cleaning up the air inlet and outlet pipes and only then proceed to connect each pipe to the air pump before completion. Finally, lower the vehicle.
