- Q: How to replace the A/C Hose with RPO Code C69 on 2004 Chevrolet Astro?A: Before beginning installation of the rpo code c69 evaporator tube start by acquiring door trim pad and garnish clip remover (J 38778) and halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). Start the procedure by taking out the air cleaner followed by the accumulator and grille. You should release the evaporator tube nut at the evaporator while also taking out the evaporator tube with its o-ring seal. Start by opening up the evaporator tube at the condenser and removing the tube from the condenser while taking out the o-ring seal. Use the door trim pad and garnish clip remover (J 38778) to remove the retainers from the splash shield before taking out the splash shield from the wheelhouse. Begin by removing the nut from the auxiliary evaporator tube block fitting and unattaching the evaporator tube from the auxiliary evaporator tube together with its o-ring seal. Before reattaching the evaporator tube to the condenser you must lower the vehicle and install a new o-ring seal then fasten the tube with the nut tightened to 28 n.m (20 lb ft). After installing a second o-ring seal you should join the evaporator tube to the evaporator then tighten its nut at the evaporator to 28 n.m (20 lb ft). After raising the vehicle use a new o-ring to connect the evaporator tube with the auxiliary evaporator tube where subsequent tightening of the auxiliary evaporator tube block fitting nut must achieve 28 n.m (20 lb ft). Put the right front tire on after installing and fastening the splash shield retainer on the wheelhouse. Before continuing reinstall the accumulator then use the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to test the component fittings for leaks. Public safety and character continue through the last installation step with returning the grille along with the air cleaner.
