The brake fluid level should be checked and the level adjusted as needed to replace the rear brake caliper. Lift the vehicle, take off the tire and squeeze the piston of the caliper. Unscrew the brake hose and the caliper and check the slide boots. Install caliper, threadlocker and tighten the bolts. Drain the braking system, and put the tire back.
