To install a new EGR valve, remove the electrical connector, the heat shield and its nuts and loosen the EGR valve retaining nuts/bolts. Check and clean the EGR passages and fit a new gasket and the EGR valve. It is necessary to reconnect the electrical connector to complete the process.
