  A: Beginning your Throttle Body cleaning process starts with taking out the air cleaner outlet duct. Check the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits while inspecting the throttle valve should open to expose every surface. Apply gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626) or an equivalent cleaning product to a clean shop towel for cleaning the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate. Cleaning the Throttle Body assembly requires avoidance of both immersion cleaners as well as strong solvents because damage occurs to the throttle position (TP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, and sealed throttle shaft bearings along with removal of grease from non-serviceable throttle shaft bearings.
