In order to change the thermostat, empty the cooling system, in part. Take out the air cleaner outlet duct and throttle body bracket nuts. Remove the water outlet housing, the gasket or O-ring and thermostat. Wipe all the sealing surfaces, attach the new thermostat and gasket and reconnect the housing. Lastly, fill cooling system and check on the leaks.
