2003 Chevrolet Tracker Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2003 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: The first step is to deactivate fuel pressure before starting the replacement of the Fuel Rail assembly. The Fuel Injector electrical connector needs to be detached followed by removal of the Intake Manifold hold down bracket and its mounts at the rear of the bracket along with the bracket bolts from the Intake Manifold. Start by removing both high pressure and return fuel hoses from the fuel pipes before moving on to extract the fuel pipes hold down bracket bolt. You can remove the 3 Fuel Rail retaining bolts after which you can extract the Fuel Rail. The procedure requires the removal of the fuel injectors as a next step. Install the fuel injectors to the Fuel Rail after applying thin motor oil to the fuel injectors o-rings. Install the Fuel Rail onto the Intake Manifold by using the 3 retaining bolts which should have a torque setting of 30 n.m (22 lb ft). The installation process entails tightening the fuel pipes hold down bolt to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Secure the Intake Manifold reinforcement bracket to its place by attaching both retaining bolts while tightening them to 25 n.m (19 lb ft). The Fuel Injector electrical connectors must be connected followed by the scan tool installation. Turn the ignition to on position with engine still off. Use the scan tool to activate the Fuel Pump after which you should inspect for leaks and conduct required repairs.
