How to replace a shock absorber on 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?

Raise and support vehicle, support lower control arm, disconnect ESC link rod and unlock connector if equipped. Hold the tennon while removing nut and upper insulator (keep plastic pilot ring), remove lower mounting bolt and shock. Install new shock, reconnect ESC, lower vehicle, torque tennon nut, dispose of shock.
