2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Turn Signal Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: Start by disabling the SIR system as explained in the Service Precautions section before replacing the multifunction turn signal lever of the vehicle. Detach the wire harness assembly from its mounting strap while taking note of its connector outlet in the abrasion sleeve. Unplug the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly at both ends from the SIR system coil connector and let its 2 endcaps fall out of the grounded housing. Take off both pan head tapping screws from the turn signal/multifunction switch and pull the assembly out of the steering column tilt head. Fasten the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly with the provided 2 pan head tapping screws . Tighten the top screw to 3 N.m (30 lb in) and the side screw to 7 N.m (62 lb in). Push both ends of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connectors into the bulkhead interface then link the switch assembly to the SIR coil connector. Place the wire harness assembly back into its strap after making sure the abrasion sleeve fits correctly on the steering column harness. Let the ignition lock cylinder case wires and electrical connector extend through the middle opening. Reapply both trim sections and activate the SIR system.
