How to properly install a Fender Splash Shield on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?

Vehicle support and tire and wheel removal is essential before starting the replacement of the front fender splash shield. First remove all screws from the mud flap and then pull away the mud flap from the fender if the vehicle is equipped with this feature. You need to separate the front fender splash shield from its mount on the front bumper fascia by taking out both its bolts and push-in retainers and the four bolts interfacing the front fender splash shield to the front fender. Position the new front fender splash shield onto the front fender while performing the installation of push-in retainers. Secure the front fender splash shield to the front fender by tightening four bolts up to 2 N.m (18 lb in) torque setting then connect it to the front bumper fascia bolts at 2 N.m (18 lb in). Set the slipper flaps at the front fender and fasten their screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in). Lower the vehicle and put back the tire together with its wheel assembly.
