To replace the trunk/liftgate lock cylinder, first, remove the compartment lid applique. Detach the latch cable assembly from behind the lock. For the Cavalier, remove the lock cylinder retainer; for the Sunfire, drill out the rivets. Reinstall the lock cylinder and reattach the cable assembly and applique.
