Service of the EGR valve starts with disconnecting the ignition power while unplugging the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector. The service begins with removing two retaining nuts from the EGR valve and extracting it from the system. Clean the EGR valve inlet pipe by removing its gasket then wipe away all debris from inside the pipe. The installation process starts with adding a new gasket to the EGR inlet pipe and following by attaching the EGR valve and its two nuts before tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft) according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. During the last step reattach the EGR valve electrical connector.
