2002 Chevrolet Venture Vehicle Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor on 2002 Chevrolet Venture?
A: A vehicle lifting process must start before replacing the speed sensor. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the speed sensor followed by removing its bolt that fastens the Transfer Case. The pinion housing vent hose along with its mounting bracket should be relocated from the speed sensor bolt boss area before you remove the speed sensor. The o-ring from the speed sensor should be removed if needed but can be used again when it remains intact. The installation process requires you to first place the o-ring onto the speed sensor if you disconnected it before installing the sensor to the Transfer Case. The pinion housing vent hose along with its mounting bracket needs to return to their position at the speed sensor bolt boss. Hook the speed sensor bolt to the Transfer Case while torquing it to 10 nm (106 inch lbs.). The last step involves plugging in the speed sensor electrical connector before lowering the vehicle to completion.
