2002 Chevrolet Tracker A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to install a new A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2002 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: A new condenser requires 20-30 ml (0.7-1.0 fl oz) of refrigerant oil added to the refrigeration system during installation. Begin with the process of recovering and draining the refrigerant. Start your installation by taking away the front grille and front bumper fascia and the two bumper fascia-brace retaining bolts. Seal the system's refrigerant ports to shield them from dirt and moisture intrusion. To work on the condenser start by taking out the 1 bolt then the condenser inlet tube followed by taking out the condenser outlet tube . The installation requires the removal of both the condenser fan electrical connector and the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector. Lower the condenser with its fan out of the vehicle by first removing its 4 mounting bolts. After removing the 4 mounting nuts you need to take out the condenser fan. When installing the condenser fan simply connect it to the condenser while tightening its position with the four nuts. To assemble the condenser insert the fan into position within the vehicle before tightening the 4 mounting bolts to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Fit new lubricated o-rings made from mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil into the condenser fittings before installing the condenser outlet tube and completing the fitting with a torque of 35 n.m (26 lb ft). Secure the condenser inlet tube with its bolt while applying 25 n.m (19 lb ft) of torque. First connect the power cables for the condenser fan system as well as for the refrigerant pressure sensor. Fasten the bumper fascia brace using two bolts before installing the front bumper fascia along with the front grille. The air conditioning system evacuation concludes with charging procedures before a complete a/c test with leak detection examinations.
