- Q: How to replace the Front A/C Hose on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?A: The first step to replace the evaporator tube requires recovering all refrigerant present then discharging it. The install procedure begins by removing the cruise control actuator motor but only continue if it exists in the system. Open fittings need capping to block dirt and moisture from entering. Start by disconnecting the evaporator liquid hose from the evaporator tube and the evaporator tube at the evaporator before extracting the evaporator tube out of the vehicle. New O-rings need lubrication with 525 viscosity mineral oil before installing them into their place where the evaporator liquid tube must be directed back into the vehicle. Put the evaporator liquid tube at the evaporator in position then attach the evaporator liquid hose to it and tighten the fittings to 25 N.m (19 lb ft). After removing the cruise control actuator motor during the repair process you should reinstall it before performing an evacuation and recharging of the refrigerant system. Complete the process by testing the system through an A/C operation while checking for refrigerant leaks.
