How to service the EGR valve on 2002 Chevrolet Express 2500?

In order to service the EGR valve, unscrew the negative battery cable and unscrew the air cleaner assembly. Disconnect the EGR harness connector and take away the bolts connecting the valve. Wipe the gasket surface, fit a new flange gasket and re-connect all without damaging the electrical component.
