How to service the EGR valve on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

To service EGR valve, not only to unplug the electrical connector, but also to unscrew the heat shield and its nuts, then the EGR valve retaining nuts/bolts. Check and wash the EGR passages. Clean up the mounting surfaces, put in a new gasket, screw in the EGR valve, reattach the heat shield and wire the electrical connector.
