How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2002 Buick Regal?

The following is needed to replace the crankshaft position (CKP Sensor): disconnect the negative Battery Cable, and raise & support the vehicle. Take off the right splash shield cover, the crankshaft balancer off and disconnect the ckp sensor electrical connector. Gently lift the ckp shield off carefully without a pry bar and remove the ckp sensor studs and the ckp sensor itself. For installation one must first install the ckp sensor followed by the ckp sensor studs to be fastened in 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Then, install ckp sensor shield and connect the ckp sensor electrical connector. Install the crankshaft balancer, right splash shield cover and lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative Battery Cable. Finally, execute the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure.
