How to replace the rear inner door handle on 2001 GMC Savana 2500?

The first step to change the rear door inside handle involves removing the right side rear door trim panel. Start by removing the push pin rivet which rests at the rear edge of rear door inside handle before pulling the handle forward from the right rear door. First disconnect the lock rods from the handle then fully extract the handle from its position. You can install the new rear door inside handle by placing it onto the right rear door then putting the lock rods in position. To successfully install the handle reverse sliding motion is necessary while making sure both handle tabs fit into the door slots. You should put the right side rear door trim panel back in position followed by installing the push pin rivet at the handle's rear edge.
