In order to change brake backing plate, lift and stand the vehicle up. Take off tire, brakes drum, and brakes shoes. Disassemble the park brake actuator and cable and disassemble the wheel cylinder and backing plate. Fit the new support plate, re-fix the parts and drop the vehicle.
