2001 Chevrolet Prizm Brake Proportioning Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Brake Proportioning Valve on 2001 Chevrolet Prizm?
A: Before working on the brake proportioning valve you must first drain brake fluid from the reservoir and clean all brake pipes and fittings. Disconnect the 3 brake pipes from the proportioning valve before removing the bolt that attaches it to the space between the cowl and firewall. Mount the proportioning valve to the cowl mount and fasten it using one bolt. Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm pressure as a final step. Secure the three brake pipes onto the proportioning valve and properly flush the brakes.
