How to replace the brake backing plate on 2001 Chevrolet Astro?

In order to fit the brake backing plate, lift the car and strip off the tire, brake drum, brake shoes, wheel cylinder and the axle shaft. Take out the old bolts of the backing plate and attach the new backing plate. Install back the axle shaft and the wheel cylinder, brake shoes and the brake drum then refit the tire and drain the brake system.
