  A: The first step of flex plate service requires obtaining a torque/angle meter which is identified by j 36660-a. Start by removing the transaxle assembly then discard the use of Flywheel bolts. First remove all eight mounting bolts before proceeding to take away the Flywheel and the reinforcement. Check the engine Flywheel for cleanliness and inspect it before placing it on the Crankshaft together with the reinforcement. The new Flywheel mounting bolts require application of gm p/n 12346004 sealant or its equivalent. The installation requires eight new mounting bolts which need to be tightened to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) during the first tightening procedure. The torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) should be used during the final bolt tightening procedure by adding 50 degrees of torque. Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.
