The wiring harness connector should be disconnected from the stop lamp switch while angled pointed pliers are used to compress both locking tabs for stop lamp switch removal. To install the stop lamp switch you should fully extend the actuating pin and retaining collar beyond 17 mm (2/3 inch). After installing the brake pedal bracket to the tangs of the stop lamp switch place it correctly while avoiding insertion of the actuating pin into the switch as it will self-adjust to brake pedal rest position. Reinstall the driver side front floor air outlet duct and the driver side instrument panel sound insulator after attaching the wiring harness connector to the switch.
