The next step requires removal of both the water deflector together with the speaker assembly. Extract the window from the door before disconnecting both the lock rod and outside handle rod from the Door Latch Assembly. The process begins by removing three fasteners from the Door Latch Assembly and moving onto two upper fasteners of the module before final fastener loosening leads to module assembly removal. Remove the door latch from its retainer through steps of releasing retainers (1, 2) to disconnect inside Door Handle and lock rods. For installation the door latch needs to be placed on the retainer and then inside Door Handle and lock rods should be attached to the latch by closing the retaining clips (1, 2). The outside Door Handle rod should be fitted onto the retainer for improved installation procedure and then securely attach electrical connectors to door latch. Fasten the module starting fasteners before installing it in the door with the fasteners properly aligned to the door keyhole slots. The remaining fasteners need installation and should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in), after which three fasteners must be installed onto the latch assembly and tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Set the door window in place before putting on the outside Door Handle lock components then the speaker hardware and trim panel frame and water protection piece. The installation sequence ends by placing the door control module together with the door trim panel.
