Begin by removing the wheel and tire from the right front position then proceed to take off the right engine splash shield. The technician should loosen right frame bolts while letting the frame drop to reach the crankshaft balancer bolt. Begin by unscrewing the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer before putting on the Harmonic Balancer puller (J 24420-C) to extract the crankshaft balancer. Sealant gm p/n 12345739 or equivalent should be applied into the keyway of the balancer before installing the crankshaft balancer using a crankshaft balancer installer (J 29113). Install the crankshaft balancer washer first before adding its bolt while you should tighten this bolt to 103 nm (76 ft. Lbs.). Complete the installation by first tightening all frame bolts and secondly reinstalling the right engine splash shield with the right front tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle then installing the Drive Belt.
