Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module followed by disconnecting its electrical connector. The shock tower receiving bolts need removal when servicing the cruise control module. Place the cruise control module on the shock tower mounting studs but remember to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Professionally secure the module through retaining nut installation while tightening them to 2 N.m (18 lb in). Reestablish the electrical connector to the cruise control module before installing the cruise control cable. You must adjust the cruise control cable to either the 3.1L or 3.8L specifications before you finish installation.
