How to replace the brake backing plate on 2001 Buick Century?

To change the brake backing plate, lift up the car and support it and take off the tire, brake drum and brake shoes. Unsure, unscrew the parking brake cable, take off rear hub and rear plate. Clamp the new supporting plate, attach the parking brake again, and screw the parts and then lower the vehicle.
