2000 GMC Jimmy Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the blower motor resistor (RPO C60) on 2000 GMC Jimmy?
A: When replacing the bwloer motor resistor (RPO C60) ensure that its metal coils do not touch metal surfaces since doing so can harm the internal wiring. Sever all Blower Motor Resistor connections after taking out the a/c control Relay bracket and the Relay. You can separate the dash panel stud when you need to remove the bolt that secures the Blower Motor Resistor. To keep the access cover visible to customers you must make four straight clean cuts on its sides to reach the three attachment screws. Push in the new Blower Motor Resistor and lock it with the mounting screw at 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Place a thin black seam adhesive line along the cut edges and keep it in place for 15 minutes until the material develops its sealant surface. Reinsert the stud into the dash panel and reconnect the resistor harness before attaching the a/c Relay bracket to its body position.
