How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?

The liftgate latch can be replaced by removing the trim panel and opening the liftgate. Unscrew the latch holding bolts and unscrew the electrical connector. Take out the rod of a lock cylinder, and loosen the latch cable. Install the new latch, reattach the electrical connector and replace the trim panel and close the liftgate.
