The repair of the rear door check requires starting by removing the trim on the rear side door. You need to expose the rear door check link by pulling back the water deflector before disconnecting this component from the door. Unbolt the check link to door jamb bolt and the two bolts holding the check link to the rear door following which you can pull out the check link by accessing it through the inner door panel hole. Start with check link insertion through the inner door panel access hole and use the two bolts to fasten it before torquing them to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in). The rear door check installation should begin with attaching it to door jamb bolt and tightening the bolt to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in). Finish the installation by reassembling and fixing the rear side door trim panel once you have put the water deflector back in its correct position.
