How to replace the piston, rod bearing in an engine on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?

In order to change the piston, connecting rod, and bearing, de-pressurize the fuel and disconnect the battery. Empty the drain coolant, oil, then wipe out the oil pan and pump strainer. Disassemble the timing belt, intake manifold, exhaust manifold and cylinder head. Install new parts, make sure that everything is aligned, and everything is reconnected.
