2000 Chevrolet Metro MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service the MAP Sensor on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?
A: Disconnection work on the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor requires both electrical connector removal and release of the vacuum hose with clamp from the MAP sensor. First detach the filter from the vacuum hoses before loosening the one bolt to remove the MAP sensor and bracket from the bulkhead. The MAP sensor installation requires securing the MAP sensor to its bracket followed by bolt tightening to 10 N.m (89 lb in) on the bulkhead bracket. Reinstall the MAP filter on vacuum hoses before connecting each hose to the MAP sensor using the clamp then finish by reconnecting the electrical connector to the sensor.
