2000 Chevrolet Metro Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Fuel Level Sensor assembly on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?
A: Vehicle technicians must extract the Fuel Tank as their first step before starting the Fuel Level Sensor replacement process. Remove the electrical connector from the Fuel Level Sensor before extracting both the clamp and fuel vapor hose from the fuel vapor pipe attached to the Fuel Level Sensor. First disconnect the quick-connect devices on the fuel return line as well as the feed line from the Fuel Level Sensor. Use a wrench to remove the six screws which maintain the Fuel Level Sensor to the Fuel Tank before extracting the Fuel Level Sensor. Install the new gasket on the Fuel Level Sensor before placing it on the Fuel Tank where 6 bolts should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Screw the fuel vapor hose back into position on the fuel vapor pipe which belongs to the Fuel Level Sensor while using the clamp for proper attachment. After connecting the quick-connect fuel return line and the quick-connect fuel feed line to the proper pipes on the Fuel Level Sensor, users should attach the electrical connector to the Fuel Level Sensor. The vehicle's Fuel Tank needs to be returned into position before closing the installation.
