During mandrel removal always sustain support to the back side of the rivet to prevent metal bending. Drill out the door handle rivet using a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit after you remove its mandrel with a center punch. Detach the inside door handle and separate the inside lock rod and inside handle rod from the inside door handle one after another. To install the inside handle rod you must fasten it properly to the inside door handle using a clip. Affix the inside lock rod using a clip after connecting it. Position the inner door handle inside the entrance while letting the tabs enter the door metal openings before installing the rivet. Reinstall the water deflector together with the trim panel.
