In order to replace rear compartment lid lock cylinder on the Impala, the rear compartment lid applique should be removed. Peck off the rivets holding the lock cylinder in place, remove the lock cylinder and the gasket. The lock cylinder should be aligned against the latch, over the holes and then fixed using rivets and then the applique can be fixed back.
