To service or repair the front crankshaft seal, to start, remove the crankshaft balancer. Use an appropriate tool to pop out the front oil seal of the crankshaft, and check the crankshaft, crankshaft balancer, and engine in front for signs of wear and tear and repair or replace as necessary. For installation purpose, lubricate the Crankshaft front oil seal with engine oil for ease of installation, then use the Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (J 35468) to install the seal, in a way that the lip is facing the engine side and the seal is flush with the engine front cover. Finally, install the crankshaft balancer and check for leaks.
