How to service the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on the M86/M94 Getrag manual transmission on 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier?

The M86/M94 Getrag manual transmission needs its VSS serviced by unplugging the electrical connector first and afterward removing the bolt-retainer assembly before pulling the VSS piece away. Take off the O-ring last for replacement. You should oil a fresh O-ring with synchromesh transaxle fluid GM P/N 12345349 or equal and put in both parts to complete installation of the VSS assembly. Put the VSS retainer and bolt in place while tightening them to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.). Attach the VSS lead to the transaxle part before placing the car on the ground.
