How to replace the front door handle on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

First step to replace the front side door outside handle requires putting the window in full up while removing the door trim panel. Disassemble the water deflector but cut off power before dismantling the switch connecting to the express down feature to avoid possible injuries. Disconnect the door latch lock cylinder rod before removing the door latch retainer clip outside Door Handle rod. Detach the two outside Door Handle fasteners before removing the door assembly by lifting it upward from the two bottom retaining tabs which releases the latch rod and lock cylinder. To install the handle properly insert the rods into the cutout before rotating it into position while using up and in pressure to ensure the retaining tabs connect to door metal. Secure the outside Door Handle fasteners at 7 n.m (62 lb in). Use the lock cylinder rod to reach the door latch before closing the clip on the retainer attached to the Door Latch Assembly. The door function should be checked before putting back the water deflector and trim panel.
