How to service and repair the Cam Gear on 2000 Cadillac Catera?

For servicing the camshaft gear, remove the intake air resonator, intake plenum and timing belt cover. Turn the crankshaft anti-clockwise to avoid valve/piston relationship. Use the Timing Belt Alignment Kit to install components, remove the camshaft drive sprocket bolt, make sure the components are properly aligned when installing them. Finally, reinstall the timing belt and other parts.
