How to service the brake light switch on 2000 Buick Park Avenue?

You need to position the Brake Pedal at full up rest to shield the brake system while servicing the Brake Light Switch. Eliminate first the left sound insulation piece. Every step starts with unlocking the switch by turning it in the opposite direction. Then remove the electrical connectors. Ensure the lower switch electrical connectors match before fitting the switch into the lower retainer with its 6 o'clock position at bottom. Turn the lower switch into the retainer until the switch bump locks into place. Then rotate the switch clockwise until it stops at 8 o'clock to safely secure the switch mechanism. Finally, reinstall the sound insulator.
